WHO AMONG THE PROPHETS OF ‘ALLĀH WAS SENT TO HIS PEOPLE TO WARN AGAINST DECEIT IN TERM OF MEASUREMENT AND WEIGHT

Among the prophets of Allah, it was Shuaib (A.S.) who was sent to his people to warn against deceit in terms of measurement and weight. Shuaib (A.S.) is a prophet mentioned in the Quran, specifically in Surah Hud and Surah Al-A’raf. He was sent to the people of Midian, who were known for their dishonesty in trade and fraudulent practices, including tampering with weights and measures.

In Surah Al-A’raf (7:85-93), it is narrated how Shuaib (A.S.) advised his people:

“And to Madyan [We sent] their brother Shu’ayb. He said, ‘O my people, worship Allah; you have no deity other than Him. There has come to you clear evidence from your Lord. So fulfill the measure and weight and do not deprive people of their due and do not commit abuse on the earth, spreading corruption.’”

Shuaib (A.S.) emphasized the importance of honesty in business transactions and warned against deceitful practices such as cheating in measurements and weights. He urged his people to be just in their dealings and to give others their rightful dues.

Therefore, it was Shuaib (A.S.) who was specifically sent by Allah to address the issue of deceit in measurement and weight among his people.
