WHO AMONG THE FOLLOWING KINGS WAS RAISED BY GOD AGAINST THE ISRAELITES FOR GOING AFTER THE CANAANITE GODS

  • A. Agap
  • B. Jabin ✓
  • C. Zebah
  • D. Zalmunnal

Jabin was a king of Hazor mentioned in the Bible. In the Book of Judges, specifically in Judges 4, it is recorded that Jabin oppressed the Israelites for twenty years because they had done evil in the eyes of the Lord by worshiping the Canaanite gods.

The Book of Judges in the Old Testament describes how Jabin, along with his general Sisera, had cruelly subjugated the Israelites until they cried out to God for help.

God raised up Deborah, a prophetess and judge, to deliver the Israelites from Jabin’s oppression. Deborah, with the help of Barak, led the Israelite army to victory over Jabin’s forces, ultimately resulting in Jabin’s defeat.

Jabin’s story serves as a reminder of the consequences that befell the Israelites when they turned away from their faith and followed other gods, leading to their oppression by foreign rulers.

In summary, Jabin was the king raised by God against the Israelites for their worship of Canaanite gods.
