In the case of fetal supraventricular tachycardia (SVT) with hydrops fetalis, amiodarone is the medicine that has to be directly injected into the fetus. Amiodarone is an antiarrhythmic medication that can be administered directly to the fetus in cases where rapid and effective response is needed for treating SVT with hydrops.

In other words, the direct administration of amiodarone was used in this specific case to treat the fetal SVT with hydrops, resulting in the conversion to sinus rhythm, resolution of fetal hydrops, and normal fetal growth until delivery at 39 weeks gestational age.
