4) Regulation of Gene Expression: Gene expression is tightly regulated to ensure that specific genes are activated or repressed at the right time and in the right cells. This regulation allows organisms to adapt to changing environments and developmental processes. Regulatory elements within DNA, such as promoters, enhancers, and repressors, control when and how genes are transcribed and translated.
